valentine wish

We typically think about Valentines Day as a time for showing our sweetheats and family that we love them. Many buy gifts, do good deeds or show extra affection to loved ones at this time of year. These gestures are good and healthy although should be consistent throughout the year, not just on Valentines Day. Jesus spoke in his word about love many times. He preached the revolutionary new concept to the jews about  the greatest commandment: "Love your God with all your heart, mind and soul and keep his commandments". But do we remember also how much the Lord loves us?

Romans 8:39 reads:

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This verse truely targets the main focus about God's love. It is unending and nothing can separate us. Isn't that exciting? No man or sickness, no situation or travesty can separate us from the love of God. Though sin can physically and spiritually separate us from God, it doesnt keep God from loving us. Within that love, the greatest valentine gift ever given, was that from the Father--the son and his willingness to appear among us in human form, suffer abuse, preach the word and then die on a cross for our sins. To reconcilliate us with the Father.  This was the greatest gift of all.  We can never repay that gift but we can show our gratutude with prayer, praise, thanksgiving and a willingness to obey and to be obedient to the word and the commands. How exciting one day when we will meet the Lord face to face. A time we can fall at his feet and express our deep affection for the Son. And experience God's love even deeper in a way we can not fathom on this earth.

Let this Valentines Day be dedicated to the Father and the Son. Through which we recieve true love and can pass that on to others around us. To be a great Valentine blessing of Godly love.
