Finally, MODOT is forging ahead in the long awaited project of bypassing the town of Brighton on Hwy 13 north from Springfield and Collins. This deadly stretch of highway has been known as "bloody 13" because of all the fatal and non fatal car crashes in that area. The northbound lanes of 13 had many side roads and driveways entering the driving lanes causing terrible crashes. Now MODOT is bypassing the town by moving the northbound lanes over and away from Brighton.

This will result in a quicker trip and a safer one. We are glad to see this and have waited many years for the bypass. Praise God!
